Dr. Stephanie J. Ling Appointed Chancellor, Tyndale University College & Seminary

Toronto, Ontario, February 2, 2012…Leading private Christian Toronto Montessori Prep School, Cornerstone, is delighted to announce the appointment of their principal, Dr. Stephanie J. Ling to the position of Chancellor, Tyndale University College & Seminary. In this prestigious position, Dr. Ling will take responsibility and play a leadership role towards building a bridge between Tyndale and the community.

Dr. Gary Nelson, president, Tyndale University College & Seminary said, “Dr. Stephanie Ling brings to the role of Chancellor a unique blend of commitment to her Christian faith and credibility from years of educational efforts in the community. She is a remarkable educator and her involvement in the community through participation on boards and committees around the city has made her an amazing bridge builder. She reflects the qualities and character that we desire to see in our students as they graduate and move out into their respective places of vocation.”

New Date:  Dr. Ling’s installation as Chancellor will occur on April 10, 2012 at Tyndale University College & Seminary 

Speaking on her appointment, Dr. Ling says, “It is a great honour to be appointed Chancellor of such a fine evangelical institution. At the same time, it is a challenge and responsibility that I must fulfill with the utmost care and devotion. I am looking forward to inspiring and celebrating success in Tyndale as I work collectively with my colleagues to bring both external and internal communities together. I also see this as an opportunity for Cornerstone Montessori Prep School to encourage greater confidence in students and parents through our school’s association with trans-denominational institutions of learning such as Tyndale.”

Dr. Ling was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia where she attained a B.Ed. at the University of Victoria. She went on to earn an Honours B.A. in English and a Masters of Education at York University. In 2008, she attained her doctorate in Educational Administration & Leadership from the University of Toronto. She has taught and held leadership positions at several schools, most recently being the co-founder and principal of the Children’s Primary Centre and Cornerstone Montessori Prep Schools at both the Toronto and Don Mills’ campuses.  Dr. Ling has served as Chair of the Board of Governors for Knox College at the University of Toronto, and is currently a member of Senate at York University. She also serves on the Board of TST (Toronto Schools of Theology).
